What if the secret to better healthcare systems isn’t just technology—but the right people connecting the dots?
That’s the question we explore in our new “People You Should Know” series, where we spotlight industry professionals shaping the future of life sciences and healthcare.
Meet Bill Davis, VP of Business Development at Waddell Group
With a career spanning consulting, sales, and healthcare technology, Bill brings a rare combination of hands-on operational knowledge and a genuine desire to support healthcare providers and improve patient outcomes on a larger scale.
We sat down with Bill to learn more about what drives him, what he’s really great at, and who he’s hoping to meet through this series.

What brought Bill to the healthcare and lifesciences industries?
“I’ve been in consulting… most of my career…But I wanted to do more with my skills…something that directly helps people.”
Bill Davis
That drive led him to healthcare, where he worked with VillageMD, supporting physicians, CFOs, and CEOs in moving toward value-based care for patients. Bill supported teams on everything from revenue cycle improvements to diagnosis and CPT coding. His work focused on:
- Revenue cycle improvements
- Diagnosis and CPT coding
- Supporting physicians in chronic care management
- Reducing healthcare costs system-wide
His goal? Make quality care more efficient and accessible while lowering costs across the board
After six years, Bill pivoted to healthcare tech, joining Clinician Nexus and Sullivan Carter, where he helped launch tools for physician compensation management. He also helped build a platform that supported future healthcare providers(MDs, RNs, NPs) throughout their educational journey and helped place them in the right health systems after graduation.
But Bill was interested in healthcare even before that.
Back in 2008, Bill was really interested in learning everything he could about healthcare and functional medicine. He and his wife immersed themselves in gut health and nutrition, and over time, others began turning to him for advice. That sparked his desire to move into healthcare professionally. He decided to bring his consulting and sales background to the space and ultimately scale that help.
What Bill’s known for (and what he wants you to know)
I’m good at connecting dots—pulling information together, seeing how we can help health systems or medical device companies, and making the right introductions. I have a wide network and I love leveraging that to solve problems.
Bill Davis
Bill is known for connecting the dots—whether that’s:
- Visualizing how tech or services can support a healthcare system
- Linking the right people across the industry
- Navigating the complex world of physician compensation, recruitment, and health system operations
He’s built a vast network and has successfully bridged gaps between healthcare providers and the tools or strategies they need.
Who Bill wants to connect with
Let’s hear this from Bill himself:
So, I started out working in the healthcare tech space, and I’ve touched all kinds of different SaaS programs—physician compensation, automation—companies that support those areas. I know the people in that space. I’ve been to the conferences and have been meeting with these folks for years.
I can help health systems with their physician compensation departments. I can connect them with companies they may want to work with for fair market value assessments. I can also help with benchmarking—if you’re trying to figure out where you stand with your employee compensation strategies, I can support that too.
That kind of work really excites me. I want to help people in this space. And on the consulting side, I can help health systems find a world-class consultant—someone who knows how to guide your department in the right direction.
